There was one bright spot of radiation: soup! Yes, after every delayed treatment (more on what crazy situations could set back my 3:30 appointment time) when we didn't leave the clinic until well after 5:30, 6 or even 6:30, Michael and I would head to a tiny little soup kitchen called Infinite Soups. This wonderful place serves the very best soups ever! They have upwards of 15 selections per day, some spicy, many vegan, some chili's, some creamy, and all tasty. I developed a passion for curried soups and anything with jalapenos. I craved sharp, distinct flavors. Infinite Soups allows unlimited and generous samples. I often ended up choosing two flavors. After purchasing our soups we would cross the street (Infinite Soups is so tiny that there are no tables and chairs-it is strictly take out only.) to a delightful bakery where we would order a yummy treat to go with the soup. A taste of their chocolate cake is a slice of heaven.
I loved sitting with Michael (and often Patrick as well) holding hands, eating soup, and knowing that we would get through the trauma of cancer. Nothing like Infinite Love washed down by a taste of infinite soup. Stir some up today!
