How often have I stepped back and looked at my life and celebrated the what is right instead of bemoaning what is wrong? After a cancer diagnosis and treatment, it is easy, very easy, to wail against the injustice of such a cruel illness and the changes it brings. No doubt, any life is completely changed by cancer, not only for the patient, but for all that love her. But not all changes are bad. I now fully know how precious life, love, friends, and family are. I know how important it is to rest, relax and take time to celebrate. I spend more time listening fully and answering carefully. I challenge myself to do more and do it well. I force myself to do things that I have avoided in the past. Life is so short that it must be enjoyed. I am very blessed: I have love, intelligence, acceptance, and a job that suits my personality. And to top it all off, I have health insurance!
Take the challenge: step back and celebrate what's right in your life! Go ahead! Enjoy your treasures!
