One year ago I had my lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy. Although cancer was an unwanted and unwelcome guest at the banquet of my life, it has nevertheless provided new perspectives, new insights, and deeper relationships.
Please help me celebrate this wonderful anniversary by encouraging every woman you know to get her mammogram.
Thank goodness that pre-existing conditions will no longer exclude women, such as myself, from medical insurance. I celebrate this day and rejoice that I now live with the security of continued medical coverage.

Has it already been a year? In that time you have become a radiant example of grace and purpose. I have learned about strength by watching you. I am humbled by your ability to grasp the positive even during the darkest times.
